Should we start #Rethinking #education?

70% through experience and practice
Should we start #Rethinking #education? 10% of learning happens through formal education 20% through other people 70% through experience and practice I can't count how many times I have studied for a test, ACED it and then forgot all about it the week later. People forget 50% of content in an hour time lapse if they do not practice. This is why in the IA we work as a company more than a class, focusing our learning on hand's on projects and less inside the classroom walls. Charles Jennings teaches us that in order to maximize the learning experience we NEED new experiences- trying a variety of roles and putting knowledge into PRACTICE

Didi, I agree with this entry. The video is great and it would be amazing if education worked like that. I do believe that it is important to be knowledgeable about certain topics such as humanities, english, science, math, etc, but what you said about acing a test and then forgetting everything a week after happens very frequently not only to you but to many people. It would be very nice for schools to combine normal education with more hands on and real world projects if they are not willing to change the entire system. Great blog, nice reflection!
