D R I V EThe slide reminds me of the value of my class: the opportunity to be intrinsically motivated to learn. When a student is given: autonomy, space for mastery & a clear purpose | It's all about setting certain boundaries without excluding this traits in the projects we design in order for student's switch to be intrinsically set on 'ON' mode. Once it's set and students have the freedom to pick a topic of their choice the learning will come naturally because they'll be internally driven to put it in action--without focusing necessarily on a grade. Motivated; that's exactly how I felt today once I found my topic for the ECON film unit. Brainstorming ☁ ☂ silently on your own can be benneficial because it's where you get to drop all your thouhgts into a paper without any given limits. It's like dreaming out loud without thinking on the paycheck, and then after that, you'll consider the feasibility of each. |
"two [or + in this case] minds think better than one"
Many times leaders tend to be very egocentric and allways feel they're idea is correct, but in reality, it's not a subject of right or wrong, its about making something great: something incredible. This whole week we've all gone home and thought about our final question and issue we will tackle through a documentary on the economy in Peru and mine, as I thought originally was going to be: How does empowering women impact the economy in Peru? | feasible, relevant, original, focused or if it had value for it's audience. |
"when one door closes , | But no matter how many "but's" I found to my question, or if it was being "rejected", I realized that rejection has a negative connotation that is not always accurate. Imagine you where not accepted to a college which you believed was the university of your dreams. Maybe it's not meant to be, maybe it's not the college for YOU. Rejection forces you to look for another alternative that who knows, could be much better in the long run and that's exactly what happened, because after using that feedback as inspiration my switch turned ON and I actually started brain-storming like it's meant to. |
As I realized that power over certain decisions can make people, whether it's a CEO, a business owner, a professional artist, a school director, or a president very self-absorbed. Their initial idea is what they stick to, because they feel on top of the pyramid and they cannot consider the fact that it could be made better. Despite the fact that these leaders drive systems, being myopic is very dangerous ☢ because it can blind us. My best advice (in any situation) is that when you find yourself overwhelmed or confused over something simply take the time to stand back, leave your thoughts for a while and then, come back to it later with an open-mindset. |
