As I came into the office people started popping up; all extremely nice. At first I noticed that as a small group they were a little surprised of my presence but I can tell, given that everyone's on their 20's and their relaxed spontaneous attitude towards "work" that it will be easy blending in. They all welcomed me to the team and presented themselves individually. The diversity in the group only makes me more eager to be there because I can learn so much from every one's work.
What worried me the most was that they could view me as a kid who has no meaningful positive input in their work and that is something I will have to prove by asking my self in every situation: | how can i add value? |
It appeared to me that the work environment was much like the IA: there was freedom. Everyone separated into their focus spots, not necessarily working in the same area of marketing but collaborating through graphic design, programming and creative writing. There was choice in creativity, people bounced off ideas one another periodically, gave feedback and even felt comfortable taking breaks because they were in charge of their own productivity. |
